Let's start building your peace of mind one day at a time.

Honoring those WHO have TAUGHT ME:

Woniya Thibeault

I watched her on Alone and reached out to her via email. It triggered a chain of events which has lead me to this path. I now call her friend.

Please reach out to her if you would like to sign up for any of her surthrival courses! You will not be disappointed. She is amazing!

Jason Marsteiner

After watching alone, I ventured out to take a class in person. My next shout out goes to Jason and his teammate, Matt at Colorado Mountain Man Survival.

I spent 2 days learning all the things.

Highly recommend!

One Easy Step at a Time: Choose a Topic below

Hello, my name is Shannon!

I am 67 years old and consider myself a wanna-be survivalist. I have taken many classes online and in person. I practice all the things every chance that I get. When we start a fire at my house, I ask everyone to try the ferro rod first.

Prepping is something that I have taken very seriously over the last few years. Little did I know that it would help me in a situation where a disaster wasn't the reason that I needed it. I had to go on disability and then retirement, both on fixed incomes. It took over a month for my first check to arrive from disability. I went thru my savings pretty quick. However, I had an abundance of food, and I was able to take food off the necessary budget items. It lasted 7 months and I still have food left!

My fishing started out using a hobo reel that I whittled myself. I finally caught the tiniest of fish after several days of trying. I still haven't made fire with a bow drill, however, a ferro rod and I get along just great! I can filter water and set up a snare. The rock slamming down on something (deadfall trap) is a technique, that although I've succeeded, is very hard for me.  I have never hunted before but now am a fairly decent fisherwoman. Although, being a pacifist means that I will profusely apologize when I kill a fish but also thank it for its life.

I love to garden. I feel very confident in my gardening skills. I have gardened in Southern California, Idaho and South Dakota. How I garden depends on where I live. Gardening isn't a cloned attempt for everywhere in the world. Hopefully, I can help you navigate gardening regardless of where you live. I also know that many of you do not want to garden, can't garden, or feel that your thumbs are not the green variety. So, I've got a section just for you! I'll teach you how to buy just what you need for you and your family.

I would love to help you feel empowered and to try new things knowing that I have also struggled and will continue to struggle. I have attended classes, learned from some amazing experts and practiced at home. Yes, I am somewhat trained. But again, I am not an expert. I just happen to know a lot of experts!

Please, pull up a chair, grab a drink (of your choice - we don't judge over here), and dive in.

I will update everything as I get more information and ideas to help each of you succeed in being prepared.

If there is something that is not listed or an area that you would like addressed, please reach out to me and let me know and I'll figure out what the experts are currently recommending.

Thank you for visiting my page!

I appreciate you!
